New bus timetables for Lewis and Harris will come into effect from Wednesday 14 October 2026, ensuring the continuation of school and public transport services across the islands.

The new network retains many existing services, particularly key school and main-route provision, while introducing some improvements. These include an additional summer service on the Westside timetable, an extension to the final Westside/Carloway evening service, and an upgraded vehicle specification for the Ness evening service.

There will also be changes to some services, reflecting the outcome of the procurement process and the need to provide a sustainable network across Lewis and Harris. These include revised frequencies and timings in parts of Westside, Uig, Lochs and Harris, with some lower-frequency services reduced or reconfigured.

Passengers are encouraged to check the new timetable before travelling from 14 October, particularly where their usual journey involves one of the revised services.  

The Winter timetable for Lewis and Harris starts on Wednesday 14 October 2026, except for Bus Na Comhairle routes where it will start on 21 October 2026.  The timetables are available at  Bus Services | Comhairle nan Eilean Siar.
