A Swedish company has collaborated with Harris Tweed Hebrides to release a new collection of garments, incorporating the fabric into wearable, everyday styles.
A Day’s March has taken Harris Tweed to add character to their everyday pieces, transitioning the fabric from being associated with more traditional garments like blazers to fit the brand’s style of caps and jackets.
The company, whose only UK store is in London's Soho, was founded in Stockholm in 2014. The name, A Day's March, comes from an old military term for the distance an army could travel in a single day.
Drawing inspiration from workwear, military apparel, sportswear and other clothing originally designed with a purpose, A Day's March aim to create a contemporary everyday uniform.
The pieces were a part of the A Day’s March Autumn 2026 collection, which launched last week on Thursday 1 October.
The men’s overshirt is based on the brand's Boulay style, mixing tailored elements of a blazer with the ease of a jacket. The women’s jacket is then based on their Astra style, a relaxed fit, classic lapel collar and clean, minimalist silhouette.
Co-founder of A Day’s March, Stefan Pagréus, said: “Harris Tweed was originally a very practical fabric, made for the weather and for everyday life. Today, we tend to associate tweed with more traditional garments like classic blazers. We wanted to put it into a simpler, more contemporary shape. In a way, that brings the fabric closer to what it was made for in the first place.”
The collection was photographed in Edinburgh for the official collection release, as well as in the Outer Hebrides. A promotional video was also released and can be watched here. It showcases the different stages of creating the final Harris Tweed fabric at the Shawbost mill.
