Women are taking over Back Football Club this month as the committee offer up a selection of delights to mark International Women’s Day 2018 – starting with a Women’s Glow Day on Saturday, March 10th.
Back FC hall will be the place to be this Saturday with a selection of health and wellbeing related classes on offer, as well as many stalls, demonstrations and freebies.
Classes and activities to give island women their ‘glow’ include Yoga, Salsa, Bellydancing, Flamenco, beauty treatments, relaxation and meditation, massage, jewellery making, and golf tuition.
And there is no need to book your class in advance, just select on the day what you fancy trying.
Women’s Glow Day will also see a wide range of stalls selling crafts, beauty products, including products from Neals Yard, Sandwick Bay Candles, The Travelling Therapist, the Bodyshop and more, as well as a stunning art exhibition.
And lunches on the day are being provided by Back Community Council – so make sure to leave room for some top quality home-baking!
Back Football Club’s ‘Women’s Glow Day’ takes place on Saturday, March 10th, from 12noon to 4pm, £1 entry. To find out more, please visit www.backfrc.org.uk
Started by the Suffragettes in the early 1900s, the first ever International Women’s Day was celebrated in 1911.
Over a hundred years later and International Women’s Day 2018 will be marked globally on Thursday, March 8th, under this year’s theme #PressforPower – a strong call to motivate and unite friends, colleagues and whole communities to think, act, and be gender inclusive.
