M.Ed. Tertiary and Higher Education

Do you need a postgraduate teaching qualification to further your career? If you already possess an honours degree and wish to specialise in teaching in tertiary or higher education (including further education), then developing the range of skills and knowledge to enable you to teach with confidence is essential.

The M.Ed. Tertiary and Higher Education programme is a good choice for you. There are exit points at PgCert, PgDip and full Masters degree. There are a number of stand-alone CPD modules available, including Teaching and Learning in Tertiary and Higher Education and Research Supervision.

Normal Module Cost: £560.00 per module or free*

This is a fully online distance education course that can be studied part-time from your home or workplace on a flexible term-by-term basis. This course attracts participants from across the professional teaching sector and so ensures a broad and stimulating learning environment. You can start the programme in either September of January. You will need to be in professional teaching.

Module topics include: Teaching and Learning in Tertiary & Higher Education; Theory and Practice of eLearning; various research methods module options; Digital literacy and Open Education; Creating digital Educational Resources; Teaching and Learning in the Clinical Environment; Assessment in the Clinical Environment.

Rachel Frieslick worked as a local baker but decided that she would fulfil her dream of becoming an engineer by joining the NC Mechanical Engineering course at Lews Castle College UHI. Having had no previous experience in engineering, Rachel commenced the course in Sept 2020 whilst continuing her work at the bakery.
