Port Technicians – Engineering
Stornoway Port Authority currently has vacancies for Port Technicians (Engineering) from an Electrical or Mechanical background.
Applications are invited from motivated individuals, who have previous experience working within a busy marine environment.
The Port Authority is going through a period of change, where a number of major expansion opportunities are being progressed and we are looking for motivated and imaginative individuals who will thrive on the challenge of developing with the Port.
The successful candidates will report to the Engineering Manager and will provide support in the daily running of the port and its assets. The aim is, as a team, to provide a high-quality service to all stakeholders and help support operations throughout the port.
The positions involve the repair and maintenance of Port Authority assets both ashore and at sea, as well as the servicing the needs of arriving/departing vessels and general port operations.
Port Technicians are expected to work Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, as well as working an out-of-hours on call rota system.
A competitive salary will be offered based on the successful candidates’ experience.
