A road safety leaflet guiding motorists on single track road etiquette on the Highlands and islands has been praised by the Scottish government.
At General Questions in the Scottish Parliament today (October 5th), Highlands & Islands Regional MSP David Stewart asked Transport Minister Humza Yousaf if the Scottish Government would join with him in commending the pamphlet by the North Of Scotland Driver Awareness Team (NOSDAT).
The team, in partnership with Tesco and Visit Scotland, has produced and circulated a road safety leaflet which gives guidance to motorists driving on single tracks roads throughout the Highlands and Islands including the including the North Coast 500.
David Stewart then asked if the Minister would agree that more work needs to be carried out addressing some of the more specialist and technical skills related to driving on single track roads.
The Minister Agreed and further stated that the Single Track Roads leaflet was an excellent example of the work that needs to be carried out with regards road safety
Speaking after General Questions, David Stewart said: “ I am delighted that the Government and the Transport Minister in particular acknowledged the good work carried out by the North Of Scotland Driver Awareness Team (NOSDAT) with regards to road safety and I am particularly pleased that he thought the most recent initiative involving an educational leaflet distributed was an excellent idea.
