The timing of the funeral service for the late Rev Dr Iain D. Campbell has been announced in Stornoway by undertakers Archibald Macrae.

It will take place from the Free Church in Kenneth Street, Stornoway on Friday (February 3) at 2pm for interment in Sandwick Cemetery.

The service will start at 1.15pm and there will be a Thursday evening service, also in the Free Church, Kenneth Street, starting at 9pm.

Collections will be taken at both services in aid of the Samaritans.

Rev Dr Campbell died last weekend in hospital in Glasgow, aged 53. 

He was flown to Glasgow for treatment the previous Sunday.

The minister of Point Free Church, Rev Dr Campbell previously held charges in Snizort, in Skye, and Back. 

He was married to wife Anne, with whom he had an adult family of three - Iain, Stephen and Emily.

Rev Dr Campbell was a former moderator of the Free Church of Scotland, and was the editor of the church's monthly magazine - The Record.
