A talk by an archaeologist will explore the possible sources of the Calanais Standing Stones at a free event in early September.

Speaker Ian McHardy has led commercial and research archaeology projects in his 20 years living and working on Lewis and he spent two years as archaeologist on St Kilda.

The talk at Breasclete Community Centre, 11am on Saturday, 5 September will be followed by a visit to one of the possible ancient quarry sites.

Booking is not required for the event that forms part of the Doors Open Days programme, and although free to attend, donations are being collected for Islands Book Trust.
