Volunteering Hebrides is seeking volunteers to train as Cycle Ride Leaders for the Embark Community Cycling Project in Lews Castle Grounds.

After the training, the commitment is a couple of hours per month during the fortnightly group cycles around the Castle Grounds.

The community cycling project has taken delivery of bicycles and e-bikes and needs volunteers to maximise their use.

Launching the volunteer appeal, Volunteering Hebrides said: “It’s a great way to get involved in your community and enjoy some fresh air. If you’re not feeling very fit, then don’t let that stop you -  we have a fleet of ebikes that do most of the hard work!”

The free training course is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, from 9 am to 5 pm.
