There will be no sailings from Lochboisdale on Thursday (April 18) as the stand-in ferry, MV Isle of Mull, is to conduct berthing trials at Uig.

CalMac has announced that if berthing trials are successful, this would provide “an alternative option for the Lochboisdale service and improve connections for Lochboisdale and Castlebay.”

The outcome of the trials will be announced on Thursday afternoon.

Meanwhile, from Saturday (April 20) to Thursday, May 9, the MV Isle of Mull will operate between Lochboisdale and Oban via Craignure on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Timetables can be found here.

The MV Lord of the Isles is currently on the Islay route, while the MV Finlaggan is on its annual overhaul. The MV Finlaggan is expected to return to Islay on Friday, May 10, to resume sailing on the route the following day.

MV Lord of the Isles is expected to return to the South Uist route as normal.
