Berneray artist Yasmin Davidson is to conclude her exhibition of paintings based on the short film Dùthchas with an “in conversation” evening at Taigh Chearsabhagh.

She will be joined by Andy MacKinnon of UistFilm, who directed Dùthchas, at the free event scheduled for Wednesday, May 1, at 7 pm.

Her exhibition, Dùthchas: through the Artist’s Lens, is a body of work painted from cinematic archive film ‘stills’ of 1960s and 70s Berneray captured by Ann and Bill Scott, and featured within the documentary film, Dùthchas | Home.

Yasmin, a Dundonian, will be talking about her practice and inspiration.

Yasmin studied Fine Art at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, graduating in 2013. She has lived in Canada and travelled extensively across the United States.

Yasmin relocated to North Uist in 2019 and now lives and works on Berneray and regularly exhibits work with the Uist Arts Association and in galleries across the Western Isles.
