Don’t tell people what you are going to do. Tell them when you have done it.

This seems to have been the adage of Uist woman Donna Scott, who has quietly smashed her 120,000-step target in the sponsored Walk for Autism Challenge.

She has raised over £700 for the charity through an online appeal and cash donations.

Now, on the final day of the challenge (Tues, April 2), Donna has, at the time of writing, racked up 143,584 steps, significantly overshooting her daily target of 15,000 steps which began on Tuesday, March 26.

Making a final fundraising push, Donna explains on her online appeal page: “Please sponsor me. Anything helps.

“Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every person on the autism spectrum has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.”
