Scottish audio archive Tobar an Dualchais ~ Kist o Riches will reprise its heavily subscribed Creative Connections course in South Uist next month.

The two-day course at Cnoc Soilleir, in partnership with Ceòlas, will introduce the three Tobar an Dualchais website archives and some of the important tradition bearers found there.

The tutors, leading scholars and creative practitioners who have extensive experience with the material comprise Dr Mairi McFadyen, Raghnaid Sandilands, Dr Domhnall Uilleam Stiùbhart, Dr Decker Forrest, Liam Crouse & Floraidh Forrest. 

They will explore how the recordings can be used to explore local creativity, cultural ecology, environmental awareness, and much more. The course will be delivered face-to-face in English but will discuss themes intrinsically linked to Gaelic.

The course, taking place on Monday and Tuesday, April 18 and 19, costs £25. More information about the course and the booking form can be accessed here

In addition to the course, Tobar an Dualchais and Ceòlas will be holding a cèilidh in St Peter’s Hall, Daliburgh, on the evening of Friday, April 19, which will showcase recordings from the Uists and performances by some of its finest singers, musicians, and dancers.
