Gale force winds overnight tonight (Wednesday 28 February) mean ferry disruption through the islands.

Tonight’s freight sailings between Stornoway and Ullapool are cancelled, and the 7am departure from Stornoway and 10.30am return from Ullapool are also cancelled.

CalMac says afternoon sailings on that route are also at heightened risk of disruption or cancellation at short notice and there will be a review at 8:30am regarding the 2pm from Stornoway.

Sailings on the Uig triangle route are subject to short-notice disruption or cancellation as replacement vessel MV Clansman negotiates the weather conditions.

Further south, MV Hebridean Isles is repositioning to Craignure this afternoon to get shelter from the sea swell, and tomorrow’s 5.55am departure from Lochboisdale is therefore cancelled.

Barra has been without services again today due to a combination of weather disruption and the current shared service with South Uist and the Sound of Barra ferry is subject to disruption due to weather conditions again tomorrow.
