The full artistic line-up for HebCelt 2024 has been revealed today (Thursday 21 February), showcasing the festival’s eclectic range and faithfulness to its Celtic roots.

Announced today as headliners are legendary alternative rockers James, who have sold 25 million album copies worldwide and who celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2023.

Another anniversary will be marked by a band who sit firmly at the heart of island life, as Skipinnish tick off 25 years at the heart of the Scottish traditional music scene.

They started the year with a sold-out Celtic Connections show in Glasgow and are about to see the last tickets for a massive celebratory concert at Edinburgh Castle sold – but fans can see them here on our doorstep in Stornoway.

The fully-confirmed HebCelt programme now lists Del Amitri alongside island talent such as Alice Macmillan, Alasdair White and Keith Morrison, and matches those local skills with contributions from Swedish banjo-punk trio Baskery and traditional Québécois group Genticorum.

Also on the programme are esteemed multi-instrumentalist and BBC Radio Scotland presenter Anna Massie, Scottish fusion band Gnoss, Irish and Scottish trio Alana, Aoife agus Caitlin, and BSL performer and fiddle player Evie Waddell.

HebCelt artist programmer Michelle Shields said: "We're beyond excited to share the full lineup for HebCelt 2024 – it's shaping up to be one of the best festivals yet, with the team working hard behind the scenes to put together an incredible weekend of music and culture.

“We're particularly excited to add some more extraordinary headliners to proceedings, including the mighty James whose epic singalong hits will get a very warm welcome from the HebCelt crowd!

"As ever, we have sought to programme the festival in a way which caters to a whole range of musical tastes and helps create a warm, lively atmosphere that we think all ages will enjoy.

“Weekend tickets are available now but I would encourage people to be quick if they want to experience this amazing lineup in full.

“Information on day splits and individual day tickets will be available next month to allow people to plan their visit. We can't wait to see everyone in Lewis this July!"

For their part, bands are looking forward to a festival which always rates high for performer experience.

Jim Glennie of James said: "What an amazing part of the world to be playing a gig! I'm a big fan of Lewis and very much looking forward to another visit."

HebCelt 2024 will take place from 17th – 20 July. General weekend tickets are on sale now. For more information visit: www.hebceltfest.com.
