Ceolas Uibhist has invited the community to join them for a workshop day of drama, music and dance to celebrate World Gaelic Week 2024.

Aimed at adults and young people aged 14+,  the classes at Cnoc Soilleir on Saturday, February 24, will culminate in an informal community performance at 5 pm.

The classes take the form of a day challenge, with Mairi MacLean teaching a masterclass in the four main Highland dances. At the same time, John Joe MacNeil aims to transform newbies into a Gaelic choir in a day.

Meanwhile, Iseabail MacDonald and Decker Forrest aim to create a pipe band, while Iain Beggs is set to produce a Gaelic play in a day.

The full day’s tuition, starting at 9 am, costs £10, including tea, coffee, and refreshments. Attendees should bring a packed lunch.

The community performance at 5 pm also in Cnoc Soilleir costs £5 and includes refreshments.

Bookings should be made via ceolas.co.uk by Thursday, February 15.
