Ferry operator CalMac has axed sailings between Lochboisdale and Oban from today (Sunday, December 3) due to further delays with its annual fleet overhaul programme.

The route is now being replaced with a service between Lochboisdale and Oban operated by the MV Isle of Arran, which is currently hampered by a radar fault limiting the ferry to daylight hours.

CalMac are advising that today’s 05:55 departure from Lochboisdale has been cancelled. However, an additional sailing is being put on as follows:

Depart Oban- 09:30
Arrive Lochboisdale- 15:05

As a result of the Lochboisdale-Oban route being shut down, an additional sailing is operating across the Sound of Barra from Eriskay to Ardmhor in Barra to provide a connection to the delayed departure from Castlebay to the mainland:

Depart Ardmhor - 06:15
Arrive Eriskay - 06:40

Due to the ferry’s radar fault, CalMac will issue a further update at approximately 17:00 today. The 11:20 departing Oban is cancelled.

Tuesday, December 5
