Western Isles police have issued an appeal for information after two bins were found burning at the CalMac ferry terminal in Stornoway.

The alarm was raised at 3.15pm yesterday (Thursday 30 November) when the bins were found to have been set alight.

Police and fire crews attended the scene and the fires were quickly extinguished.

Police say the fires are thought to have been started deliberately and they ask anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact them on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 0414821/23.
