More than 150 runners and walkers took part in this year’s Leanne Fund 5/10k event in Point, on Saturday June 3.

The event, sponsored by Point and Sandwick Trust, took place with an extra special guest this year with the arrival of Sunny, the Fund’s new mascot, who thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the supporters.

Now in its 14th year, the event is very well supported by the local community and in addition to the sponsorship from Point and Sandwick Trust, the Fund were treated to a donation of goodies from the Co-op in Stornoway and a supply of water from Bùth an Rubha & Café Roo.

Chrisetta Mitchell, Development Manager for The Leanne Fund said: “We were blown away by the number of people that turned up and took part in our event this year. Heartfelt gratitude to our supporters, and our volunteers for all their hard work on the day, we really couldn’t do it without you.

“Thank you so much to Point and Sandwick Trust for their ongoing support and also extend a big thank you to Point Football Club for their donation and for taking part on the day, and Point Community Council for coming along to present trophies.”
