Branch volunteers representing the Lewis and Harris Branch are pictured at the Alzheimer Scotland annual staff and volunteer conference in Glasgow taking place today (Tuesday November 7th)
The Lewis and Harris branch were awarded the Volunteer dedication and branch engagement award for 2017.
The Lewis and Harris Branch celebrated its 30th anniversary earlier this year with a small get-together during Dementia Awareness week in June.
The local service has been established for 25 years and the Branch had supported the local service tirelessly during this time with awareness raising and vital fundraising.
The Branch are always looking for new members to support them - people can support the charity by giving as much of their time as suits their own commitments.
If you are interested in becoming a branch volunteer you can contact us on 01851 702123 for more information. The next meeting is Tuesday 28th November 2017. 6pm at 18 Bells Road, Stornoway.
“We'd like to thank all the people who have been on the branch over the last 30 years, particularly founder members Kenny MacLennan and Catherine MacKenzie and all the long-term volunteers who still support our work,” says Marion Macinnes, who is Service Manager | Lewis and Harris Services for the charity.
