The Salvation Army would like to extend a huge thank you to the "generous public of Lewis & Harris", who donated to their annual appeal last week.
The Salvation Army's annual appeal raises vital funds for their diverse programme of life-changing social and community services across the UK.
Through a network of over 800 churches and community centres they offer compassionate support, a listening ear, and practical help to those in need including: supporting men, women and families who are experiencing homelessness; running care homes and day centres for older people; reuniting families through their Family Tracing Service; offering training and advice to people looking for sustained employment; providing a place of safety for adult victims of modern slavery.
The generous giving of everybody has been appreciated, as has the warm and friendly conversations that all the volunteers had while collecting in town.
If the Salvation Army can be of assistance to you or someone you know then please do not hesitate to get in touch with the Salvation Army Stornoway Corps, or visit them at their hall on Bayhead.
