A 25-year-old man appeared at Stornoway Sheriff Court this morning (Monday January 13th) on a charge of breaching bail conditions already set.
The man had been arrested by police after returning to the Isle of Lewis, in contravention of a condition set following an earlier offence. He appeared in court today from police custody.
He’s now been sentenced to a period of imprisonment and is once again in police custody, awaiting the resumption of transport from Stornoway before he can be accompanied away from the islands.
Drink-driver for court
A driver who was stopped by Police in Newmarket on Friday night was found to be driving with an excess amount of alcohol in his system.
The 72-year-old man was kept in custody overnight into Saturday and released in an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
