Stornoway Ladies’ Rugby team will make history tomorrow (Saturday August 31st) as they kick off their first league game.
The women’s team will be playing at Bayhead against Huntly Ladies RFC in the Tennent’s Women’s League, with a kick-off time of 3pm and a huge surge of energy which has been building up all summer.
The team have been preparing for the historic season not just with training, but with image-creation, thanks to player Fiona Rennie (Sradag Creative), who has been preparing player profiles for team members.
Team captain Emma Murray Scaramuccia sums up rugby as an ‘addictive, empowering passion’ in her profile, where she also says: “I had excess energy to burn – hooked from that first session and have never looked back!”
Meanwhile the men’s senior team are away for a pre-season friendly against Ross County, their first match in the Caledonian regional (north) league due to take place next Saturday (September 7th) at home against Banff RFC.
