Police are appealing for witnesses to a road accident which left a member of Tesco’s staff slightly injured on Friday afternoon (January 4th).
The staff member had been collecting trolleys to bring back to the store from around the town centre when he was struck from behind by a vehicle on Shell Street, just outside the Tesco’s car park, at 4pm on Friday.
He was taken to hospital as a precaution and checked over. Stornoway police say they want to hear from anyone who saw the incident on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number NH 12/19.
Arrest at Co-op
A man’s been issued with a fixed penalty after police were called to the Macaulay Road Co-op store in Stornoway on Saturday evening (January 5th).
The 23-year-old was acting aggressively in the store entrance area when police were called at 10.20pm. He was arrested and taken into custody and later charged with breach of the peace and fined before being released.
Driving under drugs influence
A 33-year-old man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for drugs-related offences after being arrested on Bayhead on Friday afternoon (January 4th).
The man was stopped by police at 3.45pm and found to be driving under the influence of drugs. He was also found to be in possession of controlled substances and was charged with both offences.
