Police have confirmed the timings of road closures in Stornoway town centre, as the annual Carnival parade and float competition take place tomorrow (Saturday August 4th).
The fishermen’s car park adjoining Perceval Square is already closed and will remain closed until late on Saturday. Perceval Square itself closes tonight (Friday August 3rd) at 6pm and will remain closed until 6pm tomorrow.
Between 1pm and 2pm tomorrow Willowglen Road will be closed between its junction with Macaulay Road and the junction with the main Tarbert road, the A858.
From 2pm to 3pm there will be a rolling series of road closures beginning at the manor roundabout and continuing along Macaulay Road, Bayhead, Cromwell Street and parts of Kenneth Street between Bayhead and Scotland Street.
Cromwell Street, North Beach, Castle Street, Point Street and Bank Street will be closed all afternoon, from 2pm until 6pm. No traffic will be allowed onto the pedestrianised areas of the narrows during this time.
