North Uist athlete Tony Wesley got the North Area Trophy crowd on their feet after smashing the championship’s 100-metre sprint record and setting a new personal best time of 11.22 seconds.
His blistering track performance propels him to fifth fastest in Scotland for his age group.
However, the North Uist Amateur Athletics Club member wasn’t the only one to shine breaking records, with Sarah setting a new championship under 11 girls’ 100-metre sprint record of 15.02s and Thomas Brennan smashing not one but two race records.
He put in a personal best time of 22.72 seconds in the 200-metre final to break the championship record, ranking him fourth in his age group in Scotland at the distance. He was closely followed by Tony Wesley, who took the silver medal.
Meanwhile, there was a bronze capture in the u17 female 800 metres by Ailsa and a gold for Anna in the U15 girls 1500-metres. In the 800-metres, Cathal came home in second for the silver.
