Rarely heard radio interviews with former West Gerenish school teacher Angela MacDonald (Angela Theàrlaich Raghnaill) have been added to Tobar an Dualchais ~ Kist o Riches for the first time.

Angela was a physiotherapist and physical education teacher who was recorded by BBC Radio nan Gàidheal for programmes such as ‘Prògram Choinnich’ and ‘Dealan-dè, often speaking about health and wellbeing, says the Scottish audio archive.

In one featured clip from ‘Prògram Choinnich’ broadcast in April 1997, Angela reminisces about Achintore Hostel in Fort William, which accommodated boarding secondary school pupils from South Uist, Eriskay, Benbecula, Barra, and parts of Lochaber. The interview also includes contributions from Anne Souter, Fergie MacDonald and Mary MacMaster.
