Heike, founder of the Hebridean Mustard Company, said: "I'm super happy and proud. I'm a huge liquorice lover and have always wanted to make a liquorice mustard and although not everyone was keen on the idea, I knew it would work. I also see this award as a confirmation to believe in my ideas, to trust my taste and my creations 100%. "

According to The International Flavor Awards, LLC, which organises the event, the Artisan Flavour Awards contest is "a premier culinary competition that offers small to medium sized businesses the opportunity to showcase their original products and be recognised for their talents by competing against similarly sized businesses in a variety of categories".

Through a blind judging process with food experts including restaurateurs, suppliers, manufacturers and members of the food community, the competition provides an impartial and informed assessment of the food and drink products entered.
