Mast upgrade

Hutchinson Engineering Ltd, of Reading, has requested planning permission to upgrade the existing Gormal radio mast at Maraig to deliver ultra-fast 5G broadband mobile connectivity.

The proposed update comprises installing three new antennas at 19.5 metres, two 0.6 metre dish antennae at 16 metres, and nine ERS units on the existing 20-metre tall lattice tower.

Proposed groundworks and ancillary works include the installation of one equipment cabinet and the installation of overhead gantry ladders and support poles, and a new 1.2-metre tall compound fence.
