Penny Farthing rider Tom Clowes and fellow cycling fundraisers made it to the Butt of Lewis yesterday (Thursday May 25) - reaching the end of the Hebridean Way.

The feat is believed to be the first time anyone has completed the Hebridean Way on a penny farthing, a bike that harks back to the 1870s.

After reaching the finish line, Tom had about £300 in cash donations made by passers-by that day on the final stretch of the marathon cycle.

After camping in Cross Inn's grounds, the trio raising funds for the Stroke Association will pedal back to Stornoway today (Friday).

Their JustGiving appeal now stands at £10,220, exceeding their target of £10,000.

However, the final figure is more as generous islanders the length of the Hebrides made cash donations to the team along the nearly 200-mile-long Hebridean Way that starts in Vatersay.
