An island fundraising effort for the Brain Tumour Charity is set to stage the Hector MacDonald Memorial Ceilidh Dance next month in the Glasgow University Union.

Fundraising is already off to a flying start, with a £1300 donation from a charity sale held in Eriskay last weekend.

Tickets for the Glasgow ceilidh on Saturday, June 10, cost £15 and can be obtained by private messaging Anne Marie MacDonald, Don Mac Donald and Lisa Moore on Facebook.

Eriskay Lilt and special guests will provide the music.

People who cannot attend the Glasgow ceilidh but wish to donate can do so via an online appeal at JustGiving.

Writing on the appeal page, Lisa Moore says the Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally.
