Luxury lifestyle brand Fenwick is to stock North Uist Distillery’s Downpour Gin at its premium stores.

The award-winning distillery worked with Outer Hebrides Tourism/Eat Drink Hebrides to land the prestigious deal with the historic London company.

The high-profile marketing breakthrough has been hailed as “one of many highlights of 2022/2023” by North Uist Distillery’s Creative Director, Kate MacDonald.

Julie Sloan, Project Manager of Eat Drink Hebrides, agrees, calling the trading partnership a “huge achievement” that shows confidence in this premium brand and exposes Downpour and the Outer Hebrides in a new collaboration at a high-end food and drink UK store and online.

Equally pleased with the tie-up was Fenwick Limited, with the buyer, Chiara Battistelli, commenting that a sip of the masterfully created gin was to experience the magic of the Outer Hebrides.

Downpour Gin is distilled using twice the concentration by weight of botanicals compared to the industry average, resulting in the stronger ‘Downpour’ flavour.

North Uist Distillery is now a serial award winner, most recently picking up Spirit of the Year at the 2023 London Spirits Competition. This latest success comes after Downpour Scottish Dry Gin was also awarded a Master medal – the highest possible award - in the Ultra-Premium category at the 2022 Gin Master’s Awards.

North Uist Distillery is now progressing towards a “field to bottle” approach by growing beer barley for its upcoming whisky.

Meanwhile, the Nunton Steadings distillery is hosting Après la Fête, a new exhibition by Berneray artist Keith McIntyre.

The prints and paintings displayed throughout the building can be viewed during normal distillery opening hours.
