Coastguard rescue teams were sent to the Harris hills this morning (Friday 19 May), after reports that a young man had been injured and needed bringing down.

The Isle of Harris and Stornoway teams, along with AC18 Murdo Macaulay, were called out after HM Coastguard was alerted at 8.50am to the 14-year-old, who had injured his foot at Loch Bhoisimid, north of Cliasmol.

Teams were able to reach the casualty and assist him to the roadside, where he was passed for further medical care to a local GP.

Teams were stood down at 11.13am today.
