The countdown is on for this year’s Leanne Fund 5k walk/run and 10k race which will take place on Saturday June 3.

Sponsored by Point and Sandwick Trust, the event, now in its 14th year, will set off on the usual route starting and finishing near Sgoil an Rubha in Point. This year a very special guest will also be making a debut appearance, all will be revealed on the day!

Registration will start from 11am with the 10k race beginning at 12pm and the 5k Walk or run starting at 12:05.

Everyone is encouraged to wear their brightest outfits on the day as there will be a prize for Best Dressed participant.

 There have also been some exciting things happening behind the scenes at The Leanne Fund recently. Not only are they getting ready to crown their 2023 5k/10k winners, but they are also unpacking boxes at their new office.

Chrisetta said: “This has been a year of welcome change for the Fund as we relocate to new premises and continue to expand our services from the North of Scotland to three new regions across the central belt of Scotland with the generous support of the National Lottery Community Fund.

“As part of this development we are delighted to welcome Ronah Muir who joins our team as Project Support Officer. We are excited about this new chapter, and we look forward to working with the new CF teams and supporting more families.”
