A new website has been launched by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Heritage Service.

The site brings together, in one online destination, information about Museum nan Eilean, Tasglann nan Eilean and the Western Isles Archaeology services and venues.

The website aims to be fully bilingual and has been created thanks to funding from Museums Galleries Scotland and Bòrd na Gàidhlig.

Colin George Morrison, Team Leader, Heritage & Culture, said: ‘The new website provides comprehensive information about the Comhairle’s heritage services in a way we hope people will find interesting, exciting and easy to use.

"We hope it will encourage visitors and residents alike to visit our venues to explore all that is on offer and reveal the wide range of potential research uses of our collections.”

As well as being regularly updated, it is planned to expand some of the site’s sections over time.
