A period of disruptive gales has been signalled by Loganair, who have offered travel change options to customers planning to fly on Sunday (29 January).

The Met Office is forecasting wind strengthening late on Saturday, with westerly gales on Sunday, returning after a short break to take charge again on Tuesday.

No weather warnings are yet in place, but Loganair got ahead of the game yesterday (Thursday) with an offer of flight changes for island customers.

Their notice on social media said: “Due to high winds forecast this Sunday and the potential travel disruption, we are offering customers travelling to and from Shetland, Kirkwall, Stornoway, Benbecula, Tiree and Barra the opportunity to adjust travel plans without charge.

“Please rebook via manage my booking or via our call centre on 0344 800 2855.”
