Comhairle nan Eilean Siar will stage a series of meetings in February to gauge local opinion on the Uist Repopulation Zone Draft Plan.
The draft plan suggests ways to kickstart repopulation in the Southern Isles, but the Comhairle wants to hear what the public has to say on the matter.
The meetings are to take place as follows:
- Monday, February 6 - Balivanich Hall, 18:30 - 20:00
- Tuesday, February 7 - Carinish Hall, 14:00 - 15.30/Lochmaddy Hall, 18:30 - 20:00
- Wednesday, February 8 - Southend Hall, 18:30 - 20:00
- Thursday, February 9 - Iochdar Hall, 14:00 - 15.30
As well as the planned meetings, there is an online survey to gather views.
The draft plan to repeople the Uists has been developed by the Population Working Group.
