Tobar an Dualchais/Kist o Riches, a Scottish audio heritage website, has uploaded three additional recordings of Kate MacDonald (Ceit Dhonnchaidh) from Peninerine, South Uist.
Kate (1916-1996) was the daughter of Duncan MacDonald (Donnchadh mac Dhòmhnaill 'ic Dhonnchaidh), a well-known storyteller.
The latest audio is from a 1983 School of Scottish Studies interview with Donald Archie MacDonald and Ishabel T MacDonald.
In one excerpt, Kate talks about tweed waulkings in her local area, who attended, where they were from, and which were the most regarded singers.
The website also has audio dating back to January 1950 when Kate sang various waulking songs for John Lorne Campbell.
You can hear the new audio recording on the Tobar an Dualchais website.
