There’s tremendous progress to report from the future base of Hebrides Mountain Rescue, according to an update today (Thursday 24 November) from team treasurer Robert Sinclair.
The group have been fundraising hard over the past two years to build a new team base at Raven’s Lane in Laxdale, and were given a huge boost when Urras Oighreachd Ghabhsainn (Galson Estate Trust) donated £10,000 towards the cost.
UOG development manager Neil Mackinnon came over to Stornoway recently to deliver the cheque to the team personally.
Robert Sinclair said: “Contractors O’Mac are doing a great job and are on schedule to have the job completed by the end of January 2023.
“The whole team want to thank Galson Estate Trust and Neil for coming over to present their generous donation.”
