Business Gateway (Outer Hebrides) are holding an information session in Lews Castle to help local businesses get ready for the business opportunities that flow from Stornoway’s new deep water terminal.

The free info session on Wednesday, December 7 is pitched at businesses in Lewis and Harris wishing to develop a product or service aimed at the cruise ship market.

Business Gateway say that opening of the Stornoway deep water terminal will offer “significant opportunities."

The event will provide interested businesses with insight into the cruise ship industry, what drives cruise line decision-making, and what they look for in a destination.

Also covered will be how the cruise ship sector interacts with shore-based businesses, including the roles of the port authority agents, and ground handlers.

The session will also examine how to maximise business opportunities and what local business support may be available.
