A special delivery arrived at Doves Corner Baby Bank in Uig on Saturday 12 November that left the baby bank’s volunteer coordinator Mrs Joanne Murray-Stewart, feeling “very thankful and humbled.”
Three full vans delivered food, along with new and pre-loved baby, children’s and adult clothing, all laundered, sorted and ready for distribution.
The baby bank donations were gifts from the ‘Little Lambs’, ‘Bible Buddies’ and the congregation of Back Free Church of Scotland.
Thanking the children, adults, office-bearers, Deacon’s Court and minister of Back Free Church and community, Mrs Murray-Stewart said: “We are amazed and feel very thankful and humbled by the generosity of everyone at Back Free Church and we give our heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated to Doves Corner Baby Bank.
“These gifts are a wonderful example of selfless giving and a practical way, not just to support young families, but to express God’s love for our neighbours. The donations will bless many of our wonderful families and individuals across Lewis in the run up to Christmas.”
