The annual collection for the upkeep of Ardmichael Cemetery on South Uist is underway.
Appealing for funds, the cemetery committee pointed out that due to the diminishing population, it was necessary to cast the net wider to all families at home or elsewhere to contribute.
Kenny Beaton, commenting in an online post, said: "This is the time of year each household is kindly asked to make a contribution to the maintenance of the cemetery. Many thanks to those who have already contributed to this year's collection. For the cemetery to remain in the community's hands, we have to work together to raise all of the funds we need."
Contributions can be made to cemetery committee office-bearers, Donald MacIsaac (Chairman) 7 Loch Eynort or Donald John MacDonald (Secretary) 4a Peninerine.
Donations can also be made via bank transfer to the Royal Bank of Scotland, Lochboisdale branch. The sort code is 83-24-26, account no 00255246, account name The Joint Stoneybridge Cemeteries Committee. The account name, however, will appear as 'The Joint Stoneybridge Cemetri'.
