Tagsa Uibhist has issued an urgent appeal for care assistants ahead of their planned careers day next month.
The recruitment appeal is for candidates interested in supporting the most vulnerable community members. Issuing the appeal, Tagsa Uibhist explained that more carers are needed to meet growing needs.
In an online statement, Tagsa Uibhist said: “We will provide all the training you need. Hours are flexible, and you are welcome to join us even if you can only do a few hours per week. If you are interested in full-time hours, we can offer that.”
The starting rate is £11.32 per hour, but this increases to £12.08 once the employee completes their SVQ2 training, which Tagsa funds. Mileage and a pension are also provided.
Commented Tagsa Uibhist: “This is a very fulfilling and rewarding role - providing support and care to people in their own homes. Please get in touch if you would like to find out more about joining our team.”
Tagsa Uibhist's open-door “Careers in Care” event is on Tuesday December 6 at their office in East Camp, Balivanich.
Taking place between 11.30am and 1.30pm, the event is open to all Uist residents aged over 18.
Tagsa Uibhist, a community organisation focused on health and well-being in the community, offers flexible hours and full training.
It is hoped the care careers drop-ins will become a monthly event held at various locations throughout Uist.
