Planning permission is being sought to convert two rooms within Unit 2 at Kirkibost Pier, Bernera, into a gin microdistillery and microbrewery.

The applicant is Richard Comfort of Pleasant Point, Rosemarkie.

According to his submission to the Comhairle, the building is classified as Class 5 General Industrial.

The previous occupant was using the unit as a retail shop. The proposal is to retain the unit’s Class 5 status but includes a room for residential use.

Erect a house

Planning permission in principle is being sought to build a new house at 4C Newpark, Callanish.

The applicant is Amy Macleod, of Keith Street, Stornoway.

Erect two pods

Two caravan pods for short-term holiday let are being proposed at 30B Breasclete.

Applicant Donald Morrison, of the same address, is seeking planning permission to site the two one-bedroom pods at the side of his property.

The pods will occupy an area of 524 square metres of the existing garden area.

Loft conversion

The Comhairle has received proposals to convert a loft and create three dormer roofs at 1 Sheshader, Point.

The applicant is Rebecca Macleod, of the same address, who wishes to convert the attic to create a bedroom/study, sitting area, bathroom, and store.
