What can be done to make Balivanich more friendly to pedestrians and others who wish to use more active modes of transport?
This is the main question posed in the Balivanich Active Travel Plan Survey, which is now live online.
The survey is part of a Comhairle nan Eilean Siar-inspired effort to draw up a blueprint to improve Balivanich for active travel, such as walking, wheeling, and cycling.
The plan is being drawn up by HITRANS (Highlands and Islands Transport Partnership) in conjunction with contractor Arup.
To help inform the plan and remodel Balivanich as a more attractive, sustainable and inviting place for residents and visitors, the local community and stakeholders are asked to share their thoughts.
An online survey at https://forms.office.com/r/hFL3KPGwPa asks questions about the obstacles to active travel and what improvements can be made within Balivanich to get people out of their cars.
The survey, open to Balivanich locals and stakeholders, will close on November 3.
