Old footballing rivals Barra and Benbecula are on level pegging with 12 points as the Shearwater Marine Services Ltd Uist & Barra League reaches its midway point.

Iochdar Saints and Southend each have 7 points thus far for third and fourth place, with Eriskay snapping at their heels with 6 points.

Meanwhile, North Uist United have yet to pick up any points, having lost all five games to date. They have found the net six times but have conceded 17 in the process.

To add to their woes, it's a similar story for North Uist United in the Graham MacLeod Driving School Summer Cup. They have yet to put any points on the board in Group A while scoring three times and losing 19 at their own end. To make matters worse, Iochdar Saints and Eriskay have a game in hand.

In Group B, meanwhile, Benbecula has proved more consistent, racking up nine points from their three Summer Cup fixtures. With a game in hand, Barra is trailing by six points and on Saturday thumped Southend 13-0.

The remaining Summer Cup fixture is Barra v Benbecula which should make for an interesting spectacle given they are neck and neck in the league.
