Members of Breasclete’s coastguard rescue team were presented with their Jubilee medals and awards for long service on Tuesday (7 June).

Especially applauded was Donald ‘Cudig’ Macleod, who has completed 30 years of service to his community as a coastguard rescue team member.

Donald was presented with a framed certificate, while Donald Macdonald and Scott Mackenzie received their medals.

Senior coastal operations officer for the Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA) David Smith said: “It’s been a pleasure to present these medals and recognise the dedication of the team in Breasclete.

“I also wish Cudig a massive congratulations on 30 years service to the community of Breasclete and the wider Western Isles. He continues to bring this experience to operations and training, for the benefit of the team and the casualty.”
