The oral tradition of story-telling in the Outer Hebrides gets a nod later this month in the Scottish Book Trust’s Community Campfire Week.
From May 31 onward to June 3, the Scottish Book Trust’s Story Wagon will set up camp at Claddach Kirkibost for the week.
It kicks off with a one-day workshop on May 31 from 10 am to 4 pm.
Paul Bristow will lead the fun session in creative story-telling. He will help participants take a memorable story from their life and weave it into something extra special.
Would-be campfire storytellers will explore how stories work and how to find, draft and develop their stories in the one day workshop.
You can then book a drop-in slot over the following two days to make a voice recording of your story on video. The stories will then be shared at the community campfire on June 3 in Berneray Community Hall.
