A softly facility in Tarbert has won £1000 in aid from the Western isles Lifestyle Lottery
Harris Voluntary Service, who manage the Western Isles Lottery funding across the Harris area, received an application from the Playleaders at Isle of Harris Softplay (Rionnagan Oga), for funding to help purchase and build the new outdoor play equipment at their softplay facility in Tarbert.
Carolyn MacPhee, of Harris Voluntary Services said “This charitable group not only provide a very worthwhile service to younger community members but also offer a well-earned respite facility for parents and a chance for them and their children to meet up.
"The WILL Project Committee agreed to ring fence two month’s proceeds from Western Isles Lottery ticket sales in Harris to enable the Softplay Group to expand their outdoor facilities and we now look forward to seeing the play equipment take shape.
The valuable Softplay facility in Tarbert is open mostly all day, Monday-Saturday and is readily accessible in a location opposite Sir E Scott School.
