The finals of Cuach na Cloinne 2022 will see two Western Isles teams heading for Inverness in June – Sgoil Uibhist a Tuath 1 and Lochs Primary School.
On Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 April, young people from all over the Western Isles took part in Cuach na Cloinne 2022 competitions.
Cuach na Cloinne is a national 5-a-side football competition aimed at young people all over the country with Gaelic in P4-7, run by Comunn na Gàidhlig.
An excellent standard of play and use of Gaelic was admired throughout the competitions.
Tuesday 26 April saw the Uist and Barra region competition, with teams playing one another at Sgoil Lionacleit. Sgoil Uibhist a Tuath 1 came out on top and they will be heading to the final in Inverness in June.
It was also a great day on the Wednesday 27, with 23 teams from Lewis and Harris competing.
Out of the 23 teams, it was Lochs Primary School that won overall, and they will also be heading to the national final in Inverness also.

The Cuach na Cloinne 2022 final will be held on Wednesday 1 June in Inverness. Reginal winning teams from all over Scotland will come together, all wanting to return home with the cup. Who will take it home this year?
Cuach na Cloinne 2022 is funded by Bòrd na Gàidhlig, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and The Highland Council, and organized by Comunn na Gàidhlig.
